Wizards: What’s Next?

Now that the NBA Draft lottery has come and gone, we know that the Wizards will not have a draft selection next month.

Washington had a 2.2& chance to land a top 3 selection, but instead, their pick will convey to the Phoenix Suns as payment for Markieff Morris, acquired in a mid-season trade.

The Wizards own their first round picks moving forward, but have only a pair of second round selections between now and the 2021 draft, due to trades.

The first number listed is approximate contract (in millions) and second is the number of seasons under contract, following next season.

John Wall 17 +2
Bradley Beal MAX
Kelly Oubre 2 +2
Otto Porter 6 +1
Markeiff Morris 7.5 +2
Marcin Gortat 12 +2

The Wizards also have a pair of second round selections from previous drafts who appear to be a part of the equation heading into the 2016-’17 season.

Tomas Satoransky PG/SG (2012)
Aaron White PF (2015)

The Wizards figure to be busy in free agency, having basically forfeited this season to maximize their chances in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.

Here are the top 40 free agents. We have listed only the unrestricted players, as most of the top restricted free agents will be retained by their respective teams.
