Cravens named NFL Clutch Performer of the Week

Washington Redskins rookie ILB Su’a Cravens has been named the Clutch Performer of Week 3 on for his game-clinching interception of an Eli Manning pass last Sunday.

The Redskins were clinging to a 29-27 lead with less than two minutes left in regulation when Cravens made his big play. I will let him describe it:

“As soon as I saw the tight end go vertical, I sat heavy inside to make him throw the out and he ran the angle so I got my hands on him early and slowed him down. Eli pumped it and I didn’t think he was going to throw it and once he threw it, I knew it was my ball. Eli was looking right at him and I was like, if he wants to throw it, it’ll be risky.”

The Cravens pick beat out Just Tucker’s game winning field goal for the Ravens, T.Y. Hilton’s winning touchdown catch for the Colts, Robert Quinn’s late-game QB sack for the Rams and Jay Ajayi’s game-winning touchdown run for the Dolphins.
