Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down: A Thanksgiving win

Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down: A Thanksgiving win

The Washington Redskins defeated the New York Giants 20-10 in a gutsy and much needed win.  Although the Wild Card hunt is pretty remote, the win keeps the Redskins at least in the hunt. It also makes the game next week against hated rival Dallas Cowboys absolutely critical, as the loser of that game will more than likely be out of playoff discussion. As a side note, it gets annoying reading comments from fans that…

Four Redskins to the Injured Reserve

Four Redskins to the Injured Reserve

The Washington Redskins placed four players on the season ending injured reserve.  RB Chris Thompson, G Shawn Lauvao, C Spencer Long, and WR Terrelle Pryor are all done for the season. None of these were unexpected.  Thompson is the obvious big loss.  He broke his fibula last week.  He will be back next season after signing a two year contract extension this off-season. Long injured his knee, attempted a come back two weeks ago, but…

Redskins Game 10 Review: @ Saints

Redskins Game 10 Review: @ Saints

THE GOOD Kirk Cousins was spectacular, completing over two-thirds of his passes and averaging a sparkling 10 yards per pass attempt. He finished with a passer rating of 132.9 and a QBR of 79.1, both excellent numbers. Cousins also threw three TD passes and committed no turnovers and consistently handled the blitz well. The Saints are one of the most blitz-happy defenses in the league and it is clear Cousins & Co. prepared well for…

Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down: Epic collapse in New Orleans

The Washington Redskins just suffered one of the most epic collapses since I’ve been a fan, which dates back to the 1970s.  Well, maybe the 13 point collapse to Dallas in the 1979 playoffs.  But, this was bad too.  The Redskins led the New Orleans Saints by 15 points with three minutes left, completely collapsed, and lost in overtime 34-31.  For the fans, it was a humiliating defeat. Redskins Thumbs Up RB Samaje Perine.  The…

Redskins RB Chris Thompson done for the season

Not only do the Washington Redskins have to deal with an epic loss, in which they surrendered a 15 point lead with three minutes remaining, but they also lost their best offensive weapon, RB Chris Thompson, for the season.  Thompson suffered a fracture fibula that will require surgery. The injury occurred in the second half, when QB Kirk Cousins, escaping the pass rush, rolled outside, and a tackler rolled up on his ankle, trapping his…
